Kostas Anastopoulos with constituant: 15th October 20061-Aug-07 - Mr Kostandinos Anastopoulos has been reinstated as Mayor of Hydra and yesterday (31-Jul) moved back into the Municipality offices in Hydra Town. Mr Anastopoulos was declared as Mayor after the national elections back in October 2006 but the opposition party contested the decision. The election result was overturned and Mr Kotronis because Mayor at the beginning of the year. Since then numerous court cases have left Hydra is a state of suspense. However, it would seem that now nearly a year after the election, Mr Anastopoulos is reconfirmed. Sources close to Mr Kotronis have said that the latest court ruling cannot and will not be contested again. Mr Anastopoulos did not have a parade in Hydra but instead held a quiet party yesterday for invited guests. Mr Anastopoulos now only has three years remaining of this current term to implement his election promises before the next 2010 general elections in Greece.
