Molos beach has the most natural, untampered feel of all the beaches on Hydra. The back of the beach is bound by the perimiter fence of a substantial privately owned property. Either side there are footpaths so you can go exploring. The water is so shallow that the large caiques can't draw in to the beach and as a consequence the place is almost deserted.

From the westThe few people who do swim from the beach have normally walked along the coast road, taking a detour along the inland path when the coast road runs out. A swim is always welcome to cool off before a picnic lunch on the beach (which they bring with them because there are absolutely no shops).

Mobile phones work from this beach. Normally people speak to their favourite water taxi driver before they set out to make sure the taxi driver is available to come an pick them up later in the day. Then they simply make a quick call when they're ready to say come and get us!
