Ayios Nikolaos Beach is in one of the largest bays of Hydra which makes it particularly attractive to those visiting on large motor cruisers and yachts. There are always one or two moored for people sitting on the beach to admire!

Because there's very little shade and the stones are quite large, the umbrellas and sun-beds are actually welcomed once you resign yourself to there being hardly any beaches left on Hydra without them. Certainly it makes sunbathing much more comfortable.

Ayios Nikolaos

The beach is operated by the caiques who do hourly runs from Hydra harbour. It's a long journey of nearly an hour to reach Ayios Nikolaos and once there, the beach kiosk has refreshments but only essentials so definitely take your picnic with you.
