Bratsera Hotel & Restaurant on Hydra Island Greece
In 1860, Nickolaos Vereniotis established a sponge factory on the premises, which has since been restored and transformed into a charming, small hotel. The hotel’s name is taken from the period when sponge divers would return the bratsera, the greek word for the mother ship, after their solitary dives each day. On the bratsera, they would relax and unwind. After the stresses and pressures of living and working in a city, one will feel the same about a stay at the Bratsera Hotel.
The hotel complex entirely surrounds the courtyard, garden and pool. The air is redolent with the scent of shrubs and flowers; oleander, jacaranda, bougainvillaea, wild herbs and cypress. The crystal clear pool will tempt you for a swim. The restaurant and bar are open throughout the day serving dinner and drinks to guests and non residents making Bratsera restaurant an ideal meeting place.
