I am personally experienced in rearing donkeys and their ethologic and veterinary needs. So I would encourage initiating some training courses for hoof care and general principles of animal keeping for their owners. This should be no animadversion on animal welfare on Hydra – I am beware of tradition and practice in donkey rearing in Greece – but it should be a challenge to think about, prior to a confrontation with discerning tourists of Member states of European Union, where animal welfare has an higher standard and awareness raising.
