Y.N.O party at Omilos
17-Aug-07 The children from the Y.N.O swimming group (that is sponsored by the Mayor every summer) had been invited today for a final party at Omilos.
Salsa music blared out loudly but it was a real treat to everyone. A professional instructor got up and did his swaying of his hips, with probably forty excited children copying him, all lined up in rows!
Snacks and cold refreshments were laid out and all (including us adults) had a most enjoyable time.
On Sunday 19th, Y.N.O will be having their swimming gala and awards at Mandraki beach, at about 5.00pm. Everyone is invited and your support for the children’s efforts will be most welcoming. Hope to see you there!

Open Air Cinema
12-Jul-07 - The open air cinema of Hydra is a popular summer venue with both visitors and locals on Hydra Island Greece. Watching a good film under the stars, as well as laughing at the cats as they walk along the top of the screen, for many people is a new experience when all they are used to are huge multi-complexes! Every evening a film is shown from 21.00 – 23.00 and 23.00 – 1.00. On a Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening there is usually a children’s matinee film, which is great if you need an hour to yourself! The cinema charges €7 (2007 price) per ticket but is run on a shoe-string by volunteers who keep it open from July to August. The venue changes to the Melina Mercouri Hall in the winter but films aren't shown regularly then. However the summer program can be seen on the What's On Calendar. For further details phone: +(30) 22980 53105. Read more for some extra photos of what it looks like inside so you know where to go for your popcorn.
