23rd Feb – The music association of Hydra invites everyone for an unforgettable night of music and dancing! There will be plenty of homemade food, drink and LIVE music played from Hydra’s own orchestra. It will be held at Douskos Taverna starting at 20.30 until late. Price for tickets is 20 euros per person. Come and join in the fun!

24 Feb – A ‘karaoke’ party for all the children at the Melina Mercouri Hall. It has been arranged by the Municipality of Hydra. Starts 19.30. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!

1st March – The parent committee of the 2nd Primary school will be holding their annual carnival party at the Melina Mercouri Hall. Entertainment and buffet included. It will start at 17.30. Entrance fee: Children: 5 euros – adults: 6 euros. Super presents include: DVD system, Hi-Fi, electric hoover and a poly-mixer. There will also be many other small gifts to win. Lottery tickets cost 1 euro per ticket. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!

The high school invites all to come and join them on the 1st March for a party at Omilos. Entrance is 10 euros which includes a free drink.

Starting the square in front of the Hydroussa Hotel at the back of the Cathedral, the parade will walk 'round the island, ending with a party in the town around 18:30 at the Douskos Taverna. Visitors welcome to join in the fun, bring your fancy dress costumes and cameras. See annual events for more details.

First Day of Lent (prior to Paska/Easter), always lands the day after carnival. Kathará Dheftéra (Clean Monday), church services start at about 7:00am and when they finish, special food is packed and taken for walks into the hills where families share their picnics and fly traditional kites.
