On Good Friday approximately 20.00, the epitaphios of Ayios Yannis in Kamini is taken in to the sea at Kamini harbour. The 1st May is a National holiday. The tradition is to ‘capture’ the day. Most of the locals go walking to collect a variety of wild flowers, then hand-make wreaths of flowers to hang on the front of their houses and shops. They believe it gives good will for the month. 124 reads more info
