Civil wedding service - We are wedding planners and offer a civil (registry office) marriage service for couples who don’t want a church wedding but do want some of the traditions, pomp and ceremony, as well as the special touches that make their day truly memorable on the stunning island of Hydra.

Greek Orthodox church weddings – If one or both of you are Greek orthodox and would like a traditional church ceremony, then we can help you to liase with the priest and make arrangements as well.

Do you need to be Greek orthodox to marry in Greece? – No, couples regardless of their nationality, religion or previous marital status can be married with a civil wedding on Hydra and their marriage will be internationally recognised and legal.

We offer a very personal service, believing that each wedding should have it’s own special charm and … well … intimacy.

We send you full instructions so you can get your paper work in order for your license prior coming to Hydra as well as suggestions for the wording of your marriage ceremony and the running order of your service. On receiving your paperwork we book the island’s Registrar or Priest of your chosen church for you in advance. We meet and welcome you on your arrival to the island and once settled in, discuss the fine-tuning of your wedding plan.

The on-island fees for attendance of the registrar and the cost of the civil wedding certificate are included in our price. The cost associated with the actual service if you marry in church with a priest, is extra. Co-operating with the Registrar or Priest, we coordinate the conduct of your wedding ceremony and include any special requests. We obtain 4 notarised copies of your wedding certificate and make sure you don’t leave the island without them. Invaluable information about the varied options available on the island, or are possible to be supplied to the island, with lots of ideas and resources, along with practical advice and in depth analysis of the pros and cons of various locations for your ceremony, reception and honeymoon on Hydra.

Once having agreed a wedding plan, we will implement it for you, negotiating prices and booking your ceremony, reception and honeymoon locations, booking suppliers, arranging flowers, photography services, menus, waiters and open bars, etc. During the week of your wedding we will set up all aspects of your event including arranging donkey deliveries.

As wedding planners on the Greek island of Hydra, we charge a flat rate of 1200 euros for weddings with up to 20 guests (plus 10 euros per person for 21+) for all the complete management and coordination of your marriage. Please note that we do not receive commission, or any other remuneration for any of the services, supplies or bookings we make on your behalf. Nor do we add on an extra percentage for ourselves.
