The Miramare Beach Bungalow Hotel has the virtue of being the only hotel right on the beach anywhere on Hydra. The rooms stretch out in a line at the back of the beach all facing the sea. Each of the 28 twin or double bedded rooms have a furnished patio area in front of it, with a narrow strip of garden planted with shrubs providing some privacy from the beach. The shore line is no more than 5 metres from the rooms.

All rooms have personal bathroom, television, air conditioner, refrigerator, telephone and furnished courtyard. At the jetty end of the beach you'll find the main hotel building with reception, a small shop, games area, meeting facilities, Home Cinema and Internet connection, and the MiraMare restaurant where you can watch the coming and going of the little boats that ferry everyone back and forth to Hydra town. It's a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy your evening meal watching the sun go down.

Overlooking the beach to the side of the main building there is an outdoor bar serving drinks and toasted sandwiches all day. They also play lots of beach party music. If you want to be close to the main building, its music and bustle then remember to ask for a room closest to reception. If you want a quieter spot, ask for a room at the other end of the beach.

Being on the beach at Mandraki Bay makes the Miramare Hotel a particular favourite with those who want a more traditional sun, sea and sand style of holiday.  The beach gently slopes into the sea and with an L-shaped jetty a safe bathing area is made for youngsters to swim in relative safety. Organised beach activities and the opportunity to try out different water sports such as wind-sailing, skiing and taking a turn on the inflated tubes dragged behind a speed boat, is a draw for younger visitors looking for fun as well as sun.
