Nautilus Bar on Hydra Island Greece

Nautilus is one of the oldest buildings, constructed in 1821. It is most definitely the oldest club on Hydra Island. The name Nautilus is a naval word that was given in past times to the person who read the map manually and directed the ship on the open ocean. Inside many antiques from old war ships can be seen hanging displayed around the club.

During the high season Nautilus is also open throughout the day. It is situated on the west side of the harbour opposite the small jetty. There are chairs outside opposite the bar where you can sit in the sun and enjoy coffee, refreshments, beer, light snacks or even one of their special cocktails!

At night the bar opens around 9ish and will continue right through to the early hours of the morning, often when the sun is rising! The music is only Greek, both old and new and is definitely set for the younger crowd. After 1.00am, the rhythm really sets in and the bar is usually heaving. The younger Greek waiters and waitresses after finishing work tend to head there to let their hair down! It is great if you want to see some Greek dancing!

Prices are average at 8 euros a drink and 10 euros for a special cocktail. Remember the portions of alcohol are more than generous! So if you feel like having a real Greek night out, this is the place to come. A friendly atmosphere, good service and lots of fun! Any celebrations that you would like to hold here please call in and speak to Antonio. He will be very happy to organise anything you have in mind.
