The Historical Museum of Hydra contains exhibits of great historical value from the period of Greek liberation struggle against the ottoman conqueror (1821). As well as the local costumes, weapons and painting of noted artists of that era, in the archives there are a large number of documents dating from the beginning of the 18th century which provide evidence of the vitally important role played by Hydra during the revolution of 1821.
