10-Aug-07 - The Verena Foundation Art Competition is open to anyone, whether on Hydra or not, regardless of their age, nationality, background, or whether they are a professional or amateur artist. To enter the competition, the subject matter of the work must be related to the red building in Kamini Harbour or to the foundation in some way. You can enter a photograph, sculpture or painting.

The prize-winning work will be bought by the foundation for display in the galleries. And the prize is $5,000. In other words the Verena Foundation will pay the winning artist €5,000 for the artwork.

Natacha and Hart, founders of the Verena Foundation launched the competition at the beginning of the year and had intended to announce the winner this month. However, due to the lack of participants, they have moved the submission date to September 15, 2007. At least 10 pieces of work must be submitted to make the competition realistic and the winner will be announced on the 30th September 2007.
