Elen Jewels - Designer Jewellery on Hydra Island Greece

Elen Jewels

Environmentally friendly designer jewellery on Hydra Island.

Made By Nature

Elen Jewels is one of the smallest shops on Hydra but is big on environmentally responsible production processess. Here you will find jewellery that is nickle and lead free so isn't harmful. The designers featured by Elen Jewels use more responsible processes to produce exceptionally high-quality jewellery that sparkles with even more appeal.

Thallo Jewels

Each piece is unique because it's made by nature!

The process is a closely guarded secret but each piece of jewellery starts as a living plant, coated with multiple layers to preserve the shape and strength of the flower resulting in a strong, long lasting piece of jewellery for you to treasure.

Unlike mass produced jewellery, there is a limited amount produced each year. If you want to order a specific piece it might take slightly longer that you might expect. The process is applied to seasonal plants like olives and margaretas, so if they run out, you have to wait until they have grown some more!

Brazilian Grass to Handmade Designs from Lesbos

Brazilian Golden Grass is imported to hand make this unusual jewellery, distinctive bags and accessories by a designer in Lesbos.

Timeless Lurex

Beautiful lurex work is also sold at Elen Jewels. Each piece contains semi-precious gems combined with modern lurex to create contemporary jewellery with lots of movement and sparkle for special occassions.

As with most of the jewellery sold at Elen Jewels each piece comes with a certificate of guarantee.

Wedding Stefana

Whether you are Greek Orthodox marrying in one of Hydra's beautiful churches, or if you are coming to Hydra for a civil wedding, wedding crowns have a significant meaning. They are used as part of an orthodox church ceremony or worn as a crown by the bride. At Elen Jewels you will find some truly beautiful and unique Stefana to cherish into your married life.

Significance: The wedding crowns, or Stefana, symbolize the glory and honor that is being bestowed on the bridal couple by God during the sacrament. The Stefana are joined by a ribbon which symbolizes the unity of the couple and the presence of Christ who blesses and joins the couple. Through the crowns, the Christ establishes the couple as the King and Queen of their home, which they rule with wisdom, justice, and integrity. The crowns used in the Orthodox wedding ceremony also refer to the crown of martyrdom, since every true marriage involves self-sacrifice on both sides.

Stefana can be ordered made to size and design but as each are made using a long process, you will need to contact Elen Jewels well in advance.

In the cabinets of Elen Jewels you will also find a wide range of appealing, one-of-a-kind fashion jewellery by 'Ingrid'.

Prices vary from €20 - €500 with some precious stone pieces a little more expensive.

You are invited to come in and browse for just that right piece of jewellery to set off your holiday outfits.

Elen Jewels is in the centre of Hydra Harbour, but because it's so tiny, often you have walked by and missed it. So keep an eye out for the Bandera Cafe and Mitsiou Supermarket, you'll find Elen Jewels tucked between them.
