Welcome to the Mandraki Beach Resort.
Mandraki Beach Resort has the only sandy beach on Hydra and it shelves gently into the shallow warm sea. It's perfect for those who don't like diving straight into deep water or walking on pebbles!
(Please don't confuse the larger Mandraki Beach Resort with the small pebble beach on the other side of Mandraki Bay below the taverna.)
Located only 1.2 kilometres from Hydra Town, the beach is an easy walk going East from Hydra harbour along the level coast road, or you can catch the beach boat that goes back and forth between Mandraki and Hydra every half hour.
Mandraki Beach offers one of the best upmarket beach experiences on Hydra and without doubt, is one of the cleanest.
On a personal note: I particularly like the fact that even though most of the beach is made over to sunbeds, they aren't crammed so close to each other that you have no privacy. It also means that you don't feel as though you are lying semi-naked next to a complete stranger! Kelsey.
A sun lounger with 10cm thick mattresses, umbrella & table will cost you €10 per day.
This price includes an ice bucket, bottles of water, a complimentary welcome sorbet and a beach towel
Waiter service is available with a call button.
If you need more or fewer sunbeds, just speak to any member of the team when you get to the beach for help.
Freshwater showers for you to rinse off after a swim are available at both ends of the beach.
There are immaculately clean changing rooms and toilets on the beach.
In addition to a number of beach boats that do the 5 minute trip back and forth between Hydra Harbour and Mandraki, the Mandraki Resort also offers their own boat to transport guests.
Regardless of which boat you take, the price for 2018 is €8 per person for a return ticket. Please make sure you keep your ticket so you have it for your return journey and note that you must go back on the same boat that you arrived on. Check with the driver to find out his particular return times.
From 20:00 the Mandraki Resort boat is FREE to bring guests to the restaurant for dinner at the Mandraki Restaurant. The last boat leaves from the Resort at 11:45. Between 20:00 - 11:45 the boat goes back and forth every half hour. PLEASE BOOK IN ADVANCE.
Walking to Mandraki takes on average 20 minutes along the level coastal road.
Lunch is available from the Mandraki Beach Cafe which serves a selection of sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes as well as soft drinks, freshly squeezed juices, beer and wine. You can have your lunch delivered to your sunbeds or you can reserve a table at the restaurant. I can highly recommend the Mandraki Slider (three mini burgers).
The Mandraki Restaurant offers a top quality dining experience with an international menu that includes mouth-watering Sushi. Please see Mandraki Restaurant for the menu.
If you are looking for a fun place to host a welcome party or perhaps a thank you treat for guests who have come to Hydra to help you celebrate an event, Mandraki Beach will not disappoint.
Matina and her team will be happy to reserve all or part of the beach for you, to organise transport to get your guests to and from the beach, to reserve all or some of the restaurant tables for your party, or to bring a light lunch to your guests at their sunbeds. Whatever your dream day, the Mandraki Beach team are there to make it a reality. Please contact Matina using the secure email form below with your wish list.
