A Hydra House

A Hydra House is a substantial, detached, holiday house to rent in the centre of Hydra Town but offers panoramic views from the front roof terrace. With only two steps from the port, the house is located in a quiet residential area that's only a quick walk from all the restaurants, bars and shops in the harbour. This is a fine example of a traditional Hydra house that has been sympathetically renovated to retain all its charm and character with lots of original artworks and furniture that make it a delight.

Ground Floor

This is a spacious house with plenty of light. Located only a 5-minute walk from the port with two steps to climb, the house is situated on a quiet street.

A short flight of steps from the corner of the living room lead down to a wonderful chill out or workroom. It is equipped with a MAC & printer which are available for those who can't escape work!

Summer Dining Courtyard

From the kitchen/living room, you can walk out to the pretty inner courtyard which is perfect for summer dining under the orange tree or chilling out in the dappled shade. There is a plant-filled side entrance from the street with Dokos stone underfoot, marble water basin and hose for a quick wash off salt & sand. The second ground floor double bedroom is across the courtyard from the kitchen/living room. A spiral staircase from the dining courtyard ascends to the back roof terrace.

Top Roof Terrace

As hinted by the opening photo, sun-worshippers and those who enjoy watching events in the harbour from the privacy of their own terrace will really appreciate the lofty position of the Top Roof Terrace. The 360-degree views are as spectacular as they are interesting. The top terraced is reached via stairs from the top floor landing. From this flower studded terrace, there is a panoramic view around Hydra’s unique architecture, across red-tiled roofs to the sea and Hydra's port and across the dramatic sides of the amphitheatre that embraces Hydra Town. It is very hot in the day for sun-seekers and with table and chairs. At night it is perfect for evening refreshment watching the sun go down and the stars come out.
