The photos for this gallery are of a very personal, mother and daughter outing that I went on today with Harriet. Our destination was high above Hydra to visit the little chapel of Ag. Nicolias. Harriet and her partner Vasilis are very attached to this perfect little chapel because they helped to rebuild it a couple of years ago with some friends. We rode Chloe and Melina on the last, blustery day of January and while it was warm, the weather was a litttle misty but I think the photos will give you an idea of how beautiful it is to get out of the town and take in the countryside. After the chapel, we continued up, stopped off at Vasilis' sister's cottage for coffee and to admire the olive trees, then came back down through the pine forests. Not the easiest of routes. I had to giggle at Harriet calling instructions, "keep your legs straight and lean back Mum", as we slid down almost perpendicular goat tracks, as though she had completely forgotten who put her on a horse in the first place!
