Trek 11 - Seahorse - 4 hours - €85 per horse

Description: This trek is to Palamida approximately 3 kilometers from Hydra harbour (or to a natural beach between Vlychos and Plakes, depending on the phase of the moon and whether there are people on the beach). The outbound trek heads west along coast road to Kamini Harbour, turning inland to Vlychos village & continuing along coast track to Vlychos Plakes beach then continues along the coast track to the shipyard and harbour at Palamida.

The actual trekking is approximately 3.5 hours there and back, but plenty of time is allowed for all riders to have a turn at swimming with their horse. For safety, I accompany each rider and their horse one at a time (or more if one of my helpers are with me), escorting them to ensure no accidents happen.

Route: Coast & inland road.

Level: All standards.

Terrain: Level road, country tracks & steps

BRING WITH YOU: small backpack with swimming costume, towel and seashoes in case you have to dismount (not flipflops as they float away) (Trainers work well but you will need a day to dry them out!). Suntan lotion is a must! Avoid riding back in salty swim wear as it will rub when dry and make you very sore.

Please note that this trek can only be booked between June - mid October when the sea is warm enough for my horses (& riders!). This trek can be booked out of season but only if you are staying on Hydra for more than one night in case it has to be moved due to cold or windy weather.
